Submission Guidelines

Information for Authors

Politico is a biannual interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal of the Society for Social Empowerment, New Delhi. Original contributions on themes of national and international importance falling under the broad themes of the journal are invited from scholars and practitioners. It is presumed that an article submitted to Politico is original and has not been under the consideration of any another journal. In general, the research articles should be between 4000-6000 words including notes and references.

We also invite provocative and shorter essays (1500-2000 words) for inclusion in the notes and comments section. We also accept book reviews. All articles should have an abstract of not more than 150 words. The name of the author, institutional affiliation and complete address including email and telephone/fax should be supplied. A short biographical statement of the author is also necessary. British spellings should be used throughout the manuscript. All the authors will be informed about the status of the submissions within two months. All the articles submitted for publication will undergo a peer-review process. If there is any comments from the peers it will be communicated to the authors and they will be given two weeks to resubmit the articles with modifications.

All notes and references should be numbered consecutively and placed at the end of the article. References to books should include author, title (italicised), place of publication, name of publisher, year, pp. (in that order). Place of publication, publisher and year should be within brackets. In subsequent references to the same work, ibid, and op.cit. can be used. References to articles should include author, title of article in double quote, title of the journal (italicised), number of volume and issue, year of publication, pp. (in that order). All short quotations are to be included in the text with double quotation marks. Longer quotes are to be indented. All quotations should be accompanied by references. Citations from internet site should contain the website address and date of accession.

We accept soft copies only. The paper should be prepared in MS Word 12 point font Times new roman with 1.5 spacing. Authors have to mail the articles to socialempowerment@yahoo.co.in
